The Michigan Victim Advocacy Network
The Michigan Victim Advocacy Network (MiVAN) is a statewide project with the goal of supporting advocates working with victims of crime. This is achieved by offering trauma-informed trainings, resources, and networking opportunities to victim advocates working in DVS-funded programs across Michigan.

Untested Sexual Assault Kits
Drawing on interviews with 32 survivors and 12 advocates, researchers found that the notification process can retraumatize victims, and integrating confidential and community-based advocacy throughout every stage is essential to supporting survivors’ emotional well-being and engagement with the legal system.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs)
The Michigan State University College of Nursing was awarded funding from the Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA) to support education and certification of nurses interested in becoming Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) in Michigan.

Domestic Violence Housing First Demonstration Evaluation
The objective of this demonstration evaluation was to rigorously examine the Domestic Violence Housing First model, which provides housing-inclusive advocacy and flexible funding to help survivors achieve safe and stable housing.
