Congratulations to RCGV member Nkiru Nnawulezi, who on May 8th successfully defended her dissertation study entitled “Linking Organizational Context to Survivor Empowerment: A Mixed Methods Study.” Her dissertation tested a conceptual model linking program theory, organizational culture, organizational structure, employee behavior, and survivor empowerment. She used a transformative, multi-level, exploratory-sequential mixed-methods design to answer the research questions. She will be presenting her findings at the Third World Conference of Women’s Shelters in November in the Hague, the Netherlands: http://www.worldshelterconference.org with her advisor Cris Sullivan and her community partners The District Alliance for Safe Housing http://dashdc.org
Dr. Nnawulezi will be starting a postdoc at the University of Baltimore Maryland County in July. We are excited to see what she does next!
